The Bahamas Development Bank names Dave Munroe as Deputy Managing Director

Dave Munroe has been selected as the Deputy Managing Director of The Bahamas Development Bank (BDB) effective July 4th, 2022. Mr. Munroe brings over 28 years of experience in the Banking industry having been employed at leading financial institutions in the Bahamas including Lloyds TSB Bank and Trust, British American Bank now known as Fidelity, and Citi Bank where he held an Executive level position. He has broad expertise in administration, compliance, delinquency control, asset management, and recovery. Mr. Munroe served as Cost Controller at Sandals Royal Bahamian one of the leading hotel properties in the region. Over his 15 years of service at BDB he has worked his way through the organization from Credit to Executive Management. Most recently he has led the transformation of The Bank’s portfolio by substantially increasing the institution’s recovery rate.

A lifelong learner, Mr. Munroe holds an M.B.A, MHR, and Bachelor of Science degrees. He has extensive training in Strategic Management, Human Relations, Money Laundering, Operations Development, Terrorist Financing, Fraud, Company Law Practice, and Administration. Prior to his education, Mr. Munroe’s deep passion for national development led him to enlist in the Royal Bahamas Police Force. He also represented the country globally as a member of The National Baseball Team.  He continues to support community development through his membership in numerous fraternal and social organizations. He is married with two children. Mr. Munroe and his family attend St. Ambrose Anglican Church. As Deputy Managing Director Mr. Munroe will participate in leading The Bank in its efforts to support national development through domestic and international frameworks including The Sustainable Development Goals and The National Development Plan.
