NASSAU, The Bahamas — An ‘All-Star Alumni Chefs Dinner’ in honour of University of the Bahamas President Dr. Rodney Smith was held, July 28, 2022, at Choices Training Restaurant at the UB Oakes Field Campus. The dinner ceremonies honoured the leadership legacy of Dr. Smith, who has served as President of the University of The Bahamas for the last eight years, the longest serving president of the institution. The ceremony honoured his leadership tenure and deep commitment to expanding access to tertiary education. Dr. Smith’s tenure as President of UB ends at the end of July 2022.

The lecture took place at the Harry C. Moore Library of the University of The Bahamas under the theme: “The Road to Independence”. Distinguished Guest Lecturers were Evangelist Rex Major, OBE, MM, and Rev. Dr. Philip Rahming, OBE, CB, JP. Both spoke about their experiences growing up pre-independence and, thereafter, in an independent Bahamas as of Independence Day, July 10, 1973.
