Ministry of Social Services Hosts Reception for Special Olympians; Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Shaunae Miller-Uibo held Photo Session with Special Olympics Athletes

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Friday, 24th June 2022 the Ministry of Social Services and UrbanDevelopment’s National Commission for Persons with Disabilities hosted a reception forreturning Special Olympics Medalists and Athletes who competed at the 2022 Special OlympicsUSA Games in Orlando, Florida. At the games more than 5,500 athletes and coaches from all50 States and the Caribbean gathered in competition in front of a spectator audience of 125,000people.The reception in celebration of the 2022 Special Olympics Team was held at SuperclubsBreezes (Nassau). The event, attended by the Special Olympics’ Athletes, Coaches, Familyand Friends, Government Officials, NGO’s and Supporters. The highlight of the evening for theteam was a surprise visit by Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Shaunae Miller-Uibo....

Reception Honours Special Olympians’ Performance at Recent Games

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development and the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities held a Reception on Friday evening, June 24, at SuperClubs Breezes to honour the performance of Bahamian Special Olympians at the recent Special Olympics USA Games 2022 in Orlando, Florida. In attendance were Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Education and Technical & Vocational Training the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin, and Minister of Transport and Housing the Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis. Leading the team into the reception was One Family Junknaoo Group. Minister Obie Wilchcombe gave congratulations on a very splendid and remarkable job done.
