Young Digi Innovators Awarded Grants

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Twelve young entrepreneurs are the recipients of a $900,000 grant funded by the Inter-American development bank (IDB). The search for innovators and entrepreneurs in the digital arena was launched in August of this year, following the government’s bid to improve on the country’s ability to deliver the highest level in Information and communications technology while conducting business with the public and other partners. After receiving proposals from innovators throughout the country, twelve applications were successful. The Bahamas Signs MOU with the African Export-Import Bank

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Government of The Bahamas moved to address new legislation that is expected to lead to “a more agile regime” insofar as the country’s comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction Management Strategy is concerned, by tabling the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Bill (Short Title) in the House of Assembly (Wednesday, November 16, 2022). State-Recognized Funeral for the late David Knowles

NASSAU, The Bahamas — A State-Recognized Funeral for David Alexander Knowles, Former Parliamentarian and Trade Unionist, was held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, on Friday morning, November 18, 2022. Sustainability discussed at COP27 Youth Forum

The Bahamas joined countries from around the globe at the 27th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP 27 in Egypt 6 – 18 November. Bahamasair Launches First Direct Flight from Raleigh to Freeport

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama (18 Nov. 2022) – Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) officials were on hand yesterday, Thursday, Nov. 17, to share in the milestone moment of the launch of Bahamasair’ s inaugural nonstop flight from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Freeport, Grand Bahama. The new airlift is expected to boost visitor arrivals to the island. Bahamasair’ s inaugural flight departed Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) at 3:30 p.m. and arrived in Freeport two hours later, at 5:30 p.m. The airline’s year-round service will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, on a 138-seat Boeing 737-700.
