Young Digi Innovators Awarded Grants
NASSAU, The Bahamas — Twelve young entrepreneurs are the recipients of a $900,000 grant funded by the Inter-American development bank (IDB). The search for innovators and entrepreneurs in the digital arena was launched in August of this year, following the government’s bid to improve on the country’s ability to deliver the highest level in Information and communications technology while conducting business with the public and other partners. After receiving proposals from innovators throughout the country, twelve applications were successful. Bahamasair Launches First Direct Flight from Raleigh to Freeport
FREEPORT, Grand Bahama (18 Nov. 2022) – Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) officials were on hand yesterday, Thursday, Nov. 17, to share in the milestone moment of the launch of Bahamasair’ s inaugural nonstop flight from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Freeport, Grand Bahama. The new airlift is expected to boost visitor arrivals to the island. Bahamasair’ s inaugural flight departed Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) at 3:30 p.m. and arrived in Freeport two hours later, at 5:30 p.m. The airline’s year-round service will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, on a 138-seat Boeing 737-700.
