The Bahamas to Host the Next Northern Caribbean Security Summit

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Munroe and US Chargé d’Affaires Usha Pitts attended a press conference at the Ministry on Monday, March 20, 2023 to update the nation on the Northern Caribbean Security Summit which took place in Miami, Florida from March 8 – 10, 2023. Minister Munroe also announced that The Bahamas will host the summit next year. The purpose of the summit was to discuss strategies to keep the Caribbean safe and to preserve security in the northern Caribbean: officials from US, the Turks and Caicos, the British government and The Bahamas attended. Female Inmates Library and Resource Center opened at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services

NASSAU, The Bahamas – A lifelong dream of Lady Smith, patron and wife of the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius A. Smith, Governor General, was realized Thursday, July 7, 2022 with the opening of the Female Inmate Library and Resource Center at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS). FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas — The Outgoing Commissioner of Police and Commissioner of Police designate on Grand Bahama, Friday, June 24, 2022 are pictured on a Farewell Tour.  Outgoing Commissioner Paul Rolle said during the tour, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police Mr. Clayton Fernander and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Leamond Deleveaux were officially introduced to officers on Grand Bahama.  Commissioner Rolle said the group toured the various Police sites, stations and Departments on Grand Bahama and he thanked Police Officers for their service. Father’s Day Celebration for Fathers at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The International Men’s Day (IMD) group celebrated Father’s Day 2022 by recognizing fathers who are in prison on Father’s Day, June 19, at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.  The IMD is a group of men that focuses on promoting positive male role models and celebrating positive contributions made by men in the society.  This year’s focus is on men’s health and well-being.  International Men’s Day is celebrated on November 19 around the world. Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Munroe is pictured addressing the special ceremonies today.  Commissioner of Corrections (Actg.), Doan Cleare also gave remarks.
