NASSAU, The Bahamas — A World Consumer Rights Day Exhibition was officially launched Monday, 13th March, at Pompey Square, downtown. World Consumer Rights Day, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 carries the theme, “Empowering consumers through clean energy transitions.” Consumer Agencies represented included the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Consumer Affairs Unit), Consumer Protection Commission, Prices Commission Board, and the Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality. The Trade Commission holds its inaugural meeting

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted its inaugural meeting for the members of the newly appointed Trade Commission. The meeting was held at the Balmoral Club, Sanford Drive, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.  The newly appointed body includes a cross-section of professionals, who represent both New Providence and the Family Islands.  Minister of Economic Affairs, Senator the Hon. National Digital Identity System – Strategy Kick-off Workshop

NASSAU, The Bahamas (5th July, 2022) – The Ministry of Economic Affairs in conjunction with the National e-Identification System (NIS) Committee convened a two-day kick-off workshop aimed at engaging government and private stakeholders on key issues for the development of a strategy for the implementation of a National Digital Identification System in The Bahamas. The workshop was held at Margaritaville Beach Resort, Bay Street, Nassau, Bahamas, on 28th – 29th June, 2022.
