NASSAU, The Bahamas — Minister of Economic Affairs, the Hon. Michael Halkitis said The Bahamas and the IDB have enjoyed a ‘mutually beneficial’ partnership over the years. IDB Technical Team Tours Solar Sites on New Providence and Abaco

NASSAU, The Bahamas — A delegation of technical officers, representing the Inter-American Development Bank Energy Mission and the Project Execution Unit (PEU) in the Ministry of Finance working on the ‘Reconstruction with Resiliencein the Energy Sector in The Bahamas’ programme, toured various sites in New Providence and Abaco featuring solar renewable energy installations.  The programme, with support from the IDB and the EU, aims to advance deployment of renewable energy (RE) in The Bahamas, with a target of 30% RE in 2030 — working towards increased energy resilience, and lower costs. NASSAU, The Bahamas — Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank Energy Mission from Washington D.C. and the European Union are in The Bahamas to review ongoing works for various solar projects. Tourism/Aviation and Works Ministries meet with IDB on Airport Infrastructure Improvement

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper and Minister of Works and Utilities, the Hon. Alfred Sears held a meeting, August 25, 2022 at the Ministry of Tourism’s offices, with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on the Airport Infrastructure Improvement Program. IDB reveals report on COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on The Bahamas

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis commissioned a Disaster and Loss Assessment (DaLA) of the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on The Bahamas, which was carried out by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). And, the findings outlined in a report reveal billions of dollars in losses, many job losses and impact to the tourism industry.
