The Governor General pays respects at the Lie-in-State of the late David Knowles
NASSAU, The Bahamas — Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius A. Smith signed the Book of Condolence and paid last respects to the family of the late David Knowles, former Parliamentarian and President of the Hotel Union, at the Lie-in-State in the Foyer of the House of Assembly on Thursday, November 17, 2022. A State-Recognized Funeral Service for Mr. Knowles will be held on Friday, November 18, at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.

Smith with the first cookies to officially launch ‘Girl Guides Cookie Month,’ which commenced October 1, 2022 during a courtesy call on October 4, at the Office of the Governor General.

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – Minister for Grand Bahama (MFGB), the Hon. Ginger Moxey; MFGB Permanent Secretary Melvin Seymour and other Government officials were on hand on Friday, September 30, 2022 to greet Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius A. Smith as he deplaned a Bahamasair flight into Freeport that morning. The Governor General and his wife, Lady Smith, spent the weekend on-island at the Grand Lucayan Resort.
