Independence Secretariat Stages “242 Day Pop-Up” with Souvenir Bags and Treats

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The 50th Independence Anniversary Secretariat staged a “242 Day Pop-Up” at the Independence Roundabout on East Street South and East West Highway on Friday, February 24, 2023. Members of the committee led by the Chair, Her Excellency Leslia Miller-Brice, were out in the national colors of Aquamarine, Gold and Black and gifted surprised motorists with the Independence Logo patterned gold-coloured souvenir bag, with commemorative trinkets inside. Friday was dubbed “242Day”, after the country’s area code, and Bahamians were urged to wear national colors, eat local cuisine, drink local teas and beverages, and to celebrate what makes them proud to be Bahamian. NASSAU, Bahamas — HRH Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, and HRH Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Forfar, attended the Gold Award Ceremony for the Governor General’s Youth Award (GGYA) programme at Breezes Resort Bahamas, Thursday, February 23, 2023. ‘A Pint of Love’ Blood Drive promoted by Minister for Grand Bahama

A PINT OF LOVE – A blood drive encouraging all residents of Grand Bahama to donate blood was promoted during a press conference on Thursday, February 23, in Freeport, Grand Bahama.  Leading the charge, Minister for Grand Bahama the Hon. Ginger Moxey said she was pleased at the collaboration for such a worthy cause.  ‘A Pint of Love’ will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Rand Memorial Hospital from 9am to 3pm. “We must unite and work together to build alliances to collaborate to ensure that Grand Bahama excels,” said the Minister.
