Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Mario Bowleg and Permanent Secretary Eugene Poitier joined Head of the Division of Youth Sandena Neely and Programme Coordinator Chanda Roberts, on February 28, 2022, for the launch of its Fresh Start Youth Employability Programme. According to the Ministry, the sixteen-week programme prepares its participants for employment. They are taught how to identify potential employment opportunities, improve personal qualities, qualifications, and job search skills, make sound professional personal decisions, gain momentum and confidence for their journey ahead. UB re-establishes the College of Tourism, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Leisure Management

The University of The Bahamas (UB) held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Re-establishment of the College of Tourism, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Leisure Management (The CALM) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Oakes Field Campus. UB President Dr. Rodney Smith cut the ribbon along with Acting Director General of Tourism Latia Duncombe to officially declare the college open. Dr. Smith announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, which is in the top ten of tourism and hospitality studies in the United States.
