PHA’s National Emergency Medical Services Headquarters, Commissioned

NASSAU, The Bahamas — New Office space has been commissioned by The Public Hospitals Authority to house the National Emergency Medical Services (NEMS) headquarters.  NEMS will now be located in the Monument Plaza on University Drive.  A commissioning  and blessing ceremony was held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 to mark the occasion.  Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Lie-in-State Ceremonies at the Senate for the Late Edward Andrew ‘Dud’ Maynard

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Lie-in-State ceremonies for former Senator and Parliamentarian the late Edward Andrew ‘Dud’ Maynard are being held today in the Foyer of the Senate, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., where members of the public may sign the Book of Condolence and pay last respects. Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Philip Davis, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Southern Division “Santasquad” provides Christmas Eve gifts and cheer

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Royal Bahamas Police Force Southern Division held its ‘Santasquad’ Community Christmas Initiative, “Christmas on Quakoo Street,” on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022. During the initiative over 200 meals where distributed along with over 100 gifts that ranged from toys for toddlers to bicycles. The lucky recipients of bikes were spoken to, along with their parents, about road safety while utilizing them. The turnout was tremendous and the gesture was greatly appreciated.

Ministry of Social Services and Bahamasair provide “Day Away to Exuma” treat for youngsters residing at Social Services Children’s Homes

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Bahamasair along with the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development provided youngsters of the Ministry’s Homes for Children with a special “Day Away to Exuma” treat on Monday, December 26, 2022. The children were accompanied by Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, Bahamasair staff, and the children’s caregivers. They toured the island and spent time at Sandals Emerald Bay’s Activity Center playing games such as ‘connect four,’ ‘toss-hoops-for-gifts,’ ‘fish-the-bottle’; there were bouncing castles, food; and Santa came to visit and provide gifts to all children in attendance.
