Week of activities in Grand Bahama for Customs 109th Year

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – Celebrating its 109th year during the month of March, the Department of Customs in Grand Bahama will hold commemorative events March 12 to 18 under the World Customs Organization’s 2023 theme, ‘Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge-Sharing and Professional Pride in Customs.’ Starting their celebrations off with a church service on Sunday, March 12 at St. Jude’s Anglican Church in Smith’s Point, the Department will honour 14 older, living, former Customs Officers. Customs marks its 109th year

NASSAU, The Bahamas–The Bahamas Customs and Excise Department will commemorate its 109th year of establishment within the Commonwealth of The Bahamas during the month of March, said Cloretta Gomez, assistant comptroller of Customs and committee anniversary coordinator, at a press conference at Customs headquarters, March 8, 2023. To celebrate the occasion, she said, the Customs Department has planned several events during the month of March, namely: Tuesday, March 21 — anniversary date, recognized with a T-shirt day.  Every Friday after during the month the staff will be allowed to wear the commemorative T-shirts at various stations.
