Persons with Disabilities discuss range of topics at Town Hall Meeting

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Equal opportunities, disability and disaster preparedness, registration of persons with disabilities and an Access Ability Bahamas App were among the topics discussed at a Hybrid Town Hall Meeting hosted by the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Hearing Room of The Ministry Of Social Services & Urban Development.

Participants in the two hour event included Townsley Roberts, Deputy Executive Secretary, NCPD; Lisa Bowleg, NEMA Training Coordinator; and Andrea Newbold, Shelter Management and Selection, Department of Social Services.

Among those in attendance were the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Social Services and Urban Development; Joel Lewis, Permanent Secretary, Desiree Clarke, Executive Secretary, NCPD.

A question and answer session followed. The presenters fielded questions from the audience as well as those listening and viewing via Webex.
