NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Ministry of Labour and Immigration announced that the Department of Labour, in conjunction with the South Beach, Carmichael and Southern Shores communities, will host a Job Fair.
The Labour on The Blocks 2.0 event will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Anatol Rodgers High School, Faith Avenue, starting at 9:00 am.
It will enable staff of the Department of Labour to bring the assistance of the Public Employment Services Unit directly to the citizens and residents of Southwest New Providence.
With more than 45 employers seeking to interview jobseekers and hire promptly, this Job Fair of the Ministry of Labour and Immigration promises to be the largest ever.
The Hon. Keith Bell, Minister of Labour and Immigration, said the Department of Labour’s team has also planned a number of options for persons seeking employment opportunities, namely:
1. Training prospects, facilitated by the National Training Agency, BTVI, Cyber Tech and the National Maritime Academy
2. Job Readiness Programs
3. Duel Enrollment at BTVI for students in Grade 10 and 11 to become certified in specialty skills before completing High School
4. ‘Clothes Closet’ access for jobseekers wishing to be interviewed at the job fair.
While the job fair will be held in Southwest New Providence — all jobseekers and students are invited to attend and take advantage of the expansive and exciting opportunities to find gainful employment and training programs to prepare persons to land a job.
Labour on the Blocks 2.0 is expected to hold similar events in other areas of New Providence and will be seeking to hold another job fair in Freeport in the very near future, as the government anticipates many employment opportunities for the citizens and residents of Grand Bahama.
