Commissioner of Police Farewell Tour

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas — The Outgoing Commissioner of Police and Commissioner of Police designate on Grand Bahama, Friday, June 24, 2022 are pictured on a Farewell Tour.  Outgoing Commissioner Paul Rolle said during the tour, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police Mr. Clayton Fernander and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Leamond Deleveaux were officially introduced to officers on Grand Bahama. 

Commissioner Rolle said the group toured the various Police sites, stations and Departments on Grand Bahama and he thanked Police Officers for their service. He said the farewell tour took in the islands of Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera and Exuma, and said these were priority Islands. A video conference will be held with other islands in the country next week.

The Commissioner designate Mr. Clayton Fernander joined the Force in July of 1982. He has worked in various departments including CID/CDU Traffic and was Divisional Commander of both Southeastern and Southern Divisions. Mr. Fernander also headed the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) that division was responsible for Crime suppression involving prolific offenders and gang activities. He also served as Assistant Commissioner of Police for Crime Management.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Leamond Deleveaux enlisted in December of 1984 and spent eight years in Central Division, which had a focus on Tourism Security and Safety. He worked in a number of areas within the Force and islands of the Bahamas including Abaco, Eleuthera, Mayaguana, Bimini, Cat Island and Andros.

Commissioner Rolle confirmed that he will be leaving the country to take up a post in London. He said he leaves the country in good hands.

Hosting the Commissioner, Commissioner-designate, and Deputy Commissioner on Grand Bahama was the Assistant Commissioner of Police and Officer in charge of the Northern Division Mr. Theophilus Cunningham.
