The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrated at Balmoral Club Reception

NASSAU, The Bahamas — A Balmoral Club Reception was held, Thursday, June 9, 2022 on the Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  Addressing the celebration were Governor General His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius A. Smith and Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper.  A Toast to the Queen was offered by the Governor General.  Taking part in the cutting of the Platinum Jubilee Cake were the Governor General, the Acting Prime Minister, and Her Excellency Sarah Dickson, British High Commissioner to The Bahamas.  Former Governor General, the Most Hon. Dame Marguerite Pindling was also in attendance, along with dignitaries and government officials.

ISPS Emergency Drill Tested At Bahama Rock, Grand Bahama

The Ministry of Transport and Housing International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Compliance Unit held an emergency drill in Grand Bahama on Thursday, March 10, 2022. It was a part of a national exerciseinvolving Inagua, Eleuthera, Bimini, Abaco, Grand Bahama and New Providence to test the response time of first responders in the event of an emergency. The objective of the event was to test response to a mock explosion at Bahama Rock, one of many test drills to have taken place on different islands. Supt. Minister of National Security Tours the RBPF Stations on Abaco Island, Bahamas

The Minister of National Security, the Honorable Wayne R. Munroe, Q.C., escorted by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Rolle, toured the Royal Bahamas Police Force locations on Abaco Island, Bahamas on Friday 25 February 2022. The purpose of the visit was to determine the needs of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and to meet and hear the concerns of the men and women that serve within this prestigious organization. Accompanying the Minister from the Ministry of National Security was Mrs. Cheryl Darville, Permanent Secretary, and Mr. Delgardo Forbes, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary.
