President of Industrial Tribunal of Bahamas and Executive Director of CAJS Visit Grand Bahama to tour Freeport Smart Court

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas — The President of the Industrial Tribunal of The Bahamas, Her Honour Mrs. Indira Demeritte-Francis and the Executive Director of the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS), Mr. Bevil Wooding, recently visited the Industrial Tribunal’s Northern Region office in Freeport, Grand Bahama to tour the facilities and see first-hand the CAJS technology was being used to revolutionize the court. Legal Year Officially Opens, with Changes Forecast

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Legal Year of the country’s judiciary is officially opened. A ceremony marking the event was held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  The ceremonies included a Church Service at Christ Church Cathedral, George Street; Inspection of the Guard on George Street; and a Special Sitting to mark the opening in the Compass Ballroom of Margaritaville Beach Resort (chosen as a venue because of flooding in the Supreme Court Building on Bank Lane).  On Sunday, January 8, members of the Judiciary worshiped at the annual Red Mass held at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, conducted by Roman Catholic Archbishop of Nassau, the Most Reverend Patrick C. Grand Bahama, The Bahamas — Government is in the final phase of negotiations with the selected bidder for a new international airport for Grand Bahama with a groundbreaking scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. PHA’s National Emergency Medical Services Headquarters, Commissioned

NASSAU, The Bahamas — New Office space has been commissioned by The Public Hospitals Authority to house the National Emergency Medical Services (NEMS) headquarters.  NEMS will now be located in the Monument Plaza on University Drive.  A commissioning  and blessing ceremony was held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 to mark the occasion.  Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Southern Division “Santasquad” provides Christmas Eve gifts and cheer

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The Royal Bahamas Police Force Southern Division held its ‘Santasquad’ Community Christmas Initiative, “Christmas on Quakoo Street,” on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022. During the initiative over 200 meals where distributed along with over 100 gifts that ranged from toys for toddlers to bicycles. The lucky recipients of bikes were spoken to, along with their parents, about road safety while utilizing them. The turnout was tremendous and the gesture was greatly appreciated.
