100 Laptops to Ministry of Education from FTX Digital Markets

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Teachers in the public school system will be the recipients of 100 laptops donated to the Ministry of Education by FTX Digital Markets. In attendance to receive the laptops, September 22, 2022 was Minister of Education and Technical & Vocational Training, the Hon. NASSAU, The Bahamas – Bahamix ’s new Astec Asphalt Plant is expected to improve the company’s credibility and reliability to its customers. The Hon. Alfred Sears, Minister of Works and Utilities, ceremonially commissioned the plant at the northern compound of Bahamix, Fire Trail Road west, Friday, September 16, 2022. Senior citizens evacuated from Mayaguana to Exuma ahead of conditions associated Hurricane Fiona

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Ten Senior Citizens were evacuated from Mayaguana to Exuma early Tuesday morning (September 20) as a precautionary measure ahead of expected Tropical Storm conditions associated with Hurricane Fiona. Residents in the southeast Bahamas, particularly those on Inagua and Mayaguana, were forecast by The Bahamas Department of Meteorology to experience minimal Tropical Storm Conditions through the day Tuesday.  This was anticipated to include gusty winds, heavy rains and localized flooding. NEMA Activates as storm Fiona nears

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Meteorological Department (MET Office) held a press conference to update the public on Tropical Storm Fiona, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at NEMA ‘s offices on Gladstone Road. Mr. Jeffrey Simmons, Chief Meteorologist at the MET Office announced an Alert was issued for Mayaguana, Crooked Island and Long Cay, Acklins and Great Inagua of the Southeast Islands.  Mr. Simmons said, “the Alert” meant that persons on these islands should monitor the progress of Fiona closely as they could experience Tropical Storm force or hurricane force winds and rain associated with the system.
